I don’t mean that all commercial deodorants are bad, but most of them are not good enough for your skin. People are so much concern about their skin and beauty. And nobody wants to buy skin problems with money. To stay safe, you need to buy a natural deodorant or make homemade deodorant by yourself.

The general deodorants of the market contain lots of harmful ingredients. The common harmful elements of deodorant are aluminum zirconium, cyclopentasiloxane, petroleum, alcohol, baking soda, phenyl trimethicone, parabens, and artificial fragrance. These ingredients protect you from odor but cause harm slowly. High level of aluminum is responsible for Alzheimer’s disease and cancer. That’s why the popularity of aluminum-free deodorant increases day by day. Aluminum also responsible for dark underarms.

Other ingredients also cause significate harm to your skin and body. Cyclopentasiloxane can trigger tumor growth and phenyl trimethicone is responsible for toxicity and hampers reproductive health of human. Alcohol makes your skin dry and sometimes causes irritation. And baking soda creates sensitivity to certain types of skin and may develop skin irritation and rashes. I always suggest not to buy a deodorant which contains parabens and such types of harmful preservative.

Why You Should Not Use Baking Soda

Side effects of baking soda on skin

I don’t recommend you to use baking soda on your underarms. It creates irritation to the skin. Thus, it causes rashes, redness, and dark underarms.

Baking soda is alkaline in nature. And our skin is slightly acidic. That’s why using baking soda may alter the pH level of the skin. It hampers the natural biology of the skin and creates several skin problems. The higher the amount means higher damages.

You should not use baking powder as well. Generally, baking soda and aluminum are mixed in baking powder. And you know aluminum is responsible for cancer, especially breast cancer.

Unlike other products, it is quite hard to get an empty deodorant stick in all local stores. That’s why I always prefer it to by from online store like amazon.com. You can buy Cornucopia Empty Deodorant Stick to store your natural homemade deodorant.

For this, you should use the double boiler method. In this process, the actual value of the ingredients doesn’t get hampered. Now take a big bowl and pour its half with water. Put another small bowl inside the big bowl and put beeswax, coconut oil, and shea butter into the small bowl.
