Refined Vs Unrefined Coconut Oil
This section is very important. Before buying, you should consider whether coconut oil is refined or unrefined. It helps you to decide in which purpose you should use coconut oil.
The refined coconut oil goes through more processing while production than unrefined coconut oil. The processing includes bleaching, high heat treating, and chemical processing for sometimes. And sodium hydroxide is used to increase the coconut oil shelf life. Sometimes it also goes through the hydrogenation process which produces trans-fat.

I think, knowing this is enough to decide which coconut oil you should buy or not for skincare. Knowing some other terms such as “centrifuge extracted” or “cold pressed” is not necessary for this purpose.
